The Problem With Growing Ebony on a Plantation

The ebony tree species is nearly extinct

Part of the reason why is because it is a very difficult tree to grow in plantations

I am confident we can grow rosewood in a multi species plantation. I have seen it myself and know there are some others out there also. Ebony will probably be one of the toughest trees to figure out as it tends to grow in more solitary environments. But we have to try and we will try it in different places and in different ways. It may be that our children will be the ones who determine what was successful from what we plant now. What a better legacy to leave them than having species go extinct and only sold on the black market.
